Well I am shocked. I’m shocked no scientists warned us about this since the eighties and possibly earlier. With a list possible outcomes that have come true year over year…

At least 35 years warning of these direct consequences, but indirectly from the beginning of the industrialization.

But don’t worry. Come the winter (let’s skip autumn again) we stop speaking about it again.

The wildfires might convince skeptical Europeans that climate change is real and has terrible consequences. This is important because right-wing parties such as AfD are skeptical of climate change.

I really hope climate skeptics just looked out the door…

when I was a kid, in my home town we had snow almost every year, and dry spells lasted a couple of weeks in the summer. Now, it’s 5 years since the last snowfall and last summer “dry spell” lasted two months and significantly impacted local agriculture.

We just need to go hard on paper straws, electric cars, and personal responsibility. No structural change or violence against the people doing this is required.

Thing is, the pace of the change will accelerate and this change is most likely irreversible now. Ecosystems pulling CO2 out of the air are actively dying. But as individuals there is basically zero impact we can have. So i kind of understand the ignorance is bliss stance here. Why should i care when the billionaires and governments dont? Even the rich will suffer from this. Maybe they can avoid right out dying for a few months to years by hiding underground but this won’t be forever. No farmable surface, no future, no society. Fuckers will just suffer a bit longer than the rest of us.

If you convince just one more person to vote…… you’ll still be overridden by billionaires and corrupt politicians, but you’ll be able to say you voted
