Nine PBS in St. Louis filed a lawsuit against information management corporation Iron Mountain Data Centers July 28, seeking to recover over 50 terabytes of archival materials stored in one of the company’s Denver-based data centers.
Help, I’m bad at preserving media, should I store the PBS archives on magnetic tapes that will last like 30 years before they need to be recopied, or do I upload everything to a fly by night tech firm for probably 10x the cost?
50 TB is the size of the TankieTube library, and I have all of it backed up on my home server in my bedroom closet. Amateurs.

Far from the first people to get owned by Iron Mountain if I’m not mistaken. IIRC several major US record companies have had problems with it too.
