From my understanding you can’t monetize like you can on YouTube. YouTube originally got big because it was the only place to watch certain videos even full episodes of stuff, then the content could generate you money. It isn’t just “videos here”.com.
Yeah I’d like to see YouTubers switch over but looking at BiliBili it’s not going to happen, the whole thing is basically anime videos.
So I can’t see anyone really signing up for it who wasn’t already using it.
I suppose they could outright pay some of YouTube bigger streamers to also post there but I doubt YouTube are just going to allow them to mention it.
I didn’t think people would sign up for tiktok when I first saw it flooding reddit /r/all full of Chinese clips. But, it ended up catching on on so I wouldn’t be surprised to see bilibili seeing the same success. Won’t make an account for it though like I didn’t for tiktok, but what I usually avoid turns popular.
