The “undesirables” that saw the signs early enough to escape Germany before the real purges began were the smart, lucky ones.

We often forget about them, but I’m glad they got out. I’m happy to see similar lucky escapes happening today, though sadly I suspect for every person that’s able to escape now, ten thousand will meet a dark end at the hands of US Blackshirts later :-(

Well, it’s Yale so they were probably going to do something evil or something that seems smart unless you’ve ever listened to a single human being who has suffered hardship. But it’s still bad for New Haven pizza places or whatever.

I’m not trying to minimize the brain drain but Yale and Harvard definitely are not producing our best and brightest anymore. They mostly produce oblivious rich people’s legacy admits. I’d rather hire anyone’s student from a decent state school than a random Ivy League grad. At least they don’t want to become corporate lawyers who puss out.

Every one can and maybe should downvote me here. I have a bad opinion and she’s almost certainly correct. But she presented it in a way that’s clever and the trombone addition is objectively funny.
