Oil has to be avoided.
I sincerely doubt that capitalism is what caused the monopolar world order to crumble. Most other economic systems probably would have behaved similarly.

A world controlling monarchy/fascist state. In essence a system that would have suppressed dissent more effectively and would be vulnerable to different threats. But who would want that?
