If something is very common in a series of pictures, like a signature or watermark, then AI will replicate it much more frequently.
On the other hand, this is the New Yorker, and fuck those guys, so I’m torn. I don’t like it when this affects real artists, but it is nice to see the bougie fucks who push this stuff face some consequences of their own actions.
Normally by the time it affect people higher up, it has already fucked over a poor person somehow and we just don’t know about it yet.
I’ve almost certainly had art “sampled” by AI and had potential fans prevented from finding my work, though normally it negatively affects me by just turning art social media into a cesspool of AI images that no one wants to wade through to find actual artists.
