The older the internet gets, the more it’s like a city that keeps building on top of its own ruins. What’s is your favorite bit of internet archeology if memes are like artifacts and relics?
Apparently turns 23 years old on Friday.
I haven’t played WoW since 2018. I’m chomping at the bit to play Forever.
Numa Numa Numa yay!

My dead cat’s name was Zig… So yea that’s two dead things and now I wanna cry bro.
Not that old but https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tLxbqYNkAPo
There was a flash website where you’d but someone’s name as the subdomain and it would replace you with the name given and just repeat.
You got owned
Occasionally when I see a cat I still have “Cat? I’m a kitty cat!” play in my head.

BAAAAUUUUUGHHH
Zombo com and roflcopter

It’s the only meme I have ever truly loved.
Pretty sure this is actually older than Keyboard Cat.
Edit:
Ok so, this whargarbl is 2008, technically, keyboard cat was first uploaded in 2007, but it didn’t “become a meme” untill somebody else used the clip at the end of another video, for comical effect, in 2009.
I’d forgotten about that brief period where we all put giant black frames around all our memes. Feels classier. It was hell on the printer ink though.
I can only ever thing of the NSFW wharrrgarbl with the naked skydiver…
Her lips are doing the same thing as that dogs…

Probably de-motivational posters? Those are the oldest big thing I can think of.

This is semi adjacent bc I was feeling nostalgic earlier and I watched about an hour worth of vines while making dinner.
Wow that was a blast of nostalgia thank you for that! Had several of them up at my very first programming gig.

My college roommate was obsessed with this. And the hamster dance.
The one that basically started it all!
