    You’re telling me the population that riotted when a rapist soldier was tried, has mandatory military service, and said military is enacting a genocide, is actually for the genocide? Wow I’m shocked.

      It is not that curious if you look at it from this point of view:

      It is not uncommon that kids that got beaten by their parents will become abusive parents themselves. So… now look at what century long oppression and an pretty serious attempt at genocide can make out of a people if they get the means to stand up for their own. Hint: It isn’t pretty.

    I mean, a good chunk/a majority served in the IDF, and definitely have friends and family who are heartless killers. Even if at some point you had some humanity, how well would you handle having a hand in genocide/chilling with those who did? You’d have to rationalize it and mute your heart and better judgment if you’re too weak to hold yourself accountable, else how would you sleep at night? It’s the kind of stuff that would make any decent human being consider ending it all.
