Do you plant the seeds from fruits that you eat, or collect seeds from under mature trees in your area, or buy seeds from someone, or dig out plants that you find growing, or buy plants from a nursery, or trade with other fruit growers? Do you know of any excellent seed/plant sources that you’re willing to share?
I’ve purchased seeds online in the past (and I can’t recommend any source in particular; survival rates have always been inconsistent), but these days I mostly trade seeds and plants and sometimes whole fruits with other fruit forest people. In doing this, I’ve acquired seeds indirectly (e.g. seeds of seeds) from some of the main fruit mafia guys: Jim West in Ecuador, Oscar Jaitt in Hawaii, Don Carlos in Costa Rica, Ferdy Manga in Cameroon…
