obviously nobody expects people who cant read to read. if someone on the internet is telling you to read its because you’re on the internet where you have proven either that you’re capable of reading or that you have some kinda accessibility software that allows you to go online
“Telling people to read is ableist” is a terrible argument in the age of audiobooks, well made agitprop tiktoks and AI summaries (I don’t condone the last one I’m just trying to make a point).
The only excuse is being blind, deaf and having no feeling in your fingers. Then I can believe it’s ableist. But if you’re on bsky then at least one of those isn’t true.
The mod of marxistculture sub, bigblindmarx is legally blind themselves and they have built several Marxist Leninist communities that facilitate theory study. There was a few users on the old sub who are color blind. Their current username is quite_largeboi, they founded ModernSocialist.
It’s funny they screamed reading is hard because I do a little experiment from time to time on my IA account, one day I’d upload anarchist “theory” and the other day I would upload entirely Marxist theory sandwiched in between, so on and on. Anarchist users exclusively read their own shit but they won’t touch Marxist books. It proves they lied about reading is hard. Anarchists do things by feeling and have no plan for their future.
This is the only valid political compass meme, and any other use should result in opinion discarded immediately
I love this so much, thank you for reminding me of it
So I’m just one person, but I’m disabled, and i really don’t find these posts ableist. there’s also discourse around treatler that pops up sometimes, or going to the gym. i do depend on delivery services to get groceries, but again I’ve never felt targeted by these posts because I get that it doesn’t apply to special circumstances like mine.
The thing about idealists, such as anarchists and ultras, is that they believe strongly in “one size fits all” solutions. If a certain policy is correct, it must always be correct. If something is wrong in one context it must be wrong in all contexts. Adaptation, tactical retreats and changes in policy are often viewed as betrayal, as a straying from the purity of the ideology.
Materialists recognize that it is material reality which determines what is and isn’t correct. The right course of action depends on the circumstances. Different solutions are right for different people, just like different political and economic strategies are right for different countries and different historical periods. It’s “to each according to their needs”, not “to each the exact same as everyone else”.
There are plenty of comrades who have devoted their personal time to create audio books and made them readily available for free. Bro is on to nothing.
I think it’s just bad faith, basically.
First, marxist-leninists and those in similar sphere do a lot more than “tell people to read”. Second, there are multiple ways to acquire knowledge written in a book. For example, if someone is visually impaired, they can use audio books, provided the resources are made available for them. Information can also be expressed through lectures, seminars, streams, podcasts, etc. Reading groups can help people with denser texts that are hard to understand. Third, disabilities are a real thing that holds people back in various ways and needs accommodation, but luckily, “forcing someone to read” is not necessary in order to get them information and if they are disabled to the point they can’t read, trying to force them to isn’t going to accomplish anything anyway.
Bsky always has these liberal-types, especially western anarchists, ever since it became Twitter alternative number one.
Goddamn it, Bsky.
Bluesky’s quality cratered after the liberal exodus from twitter.
The anarchists from before that time were way cooler and actually respectable. You could have intelligent conversations with them.
The ones riding the Rachel Maddow blue wave are just the typical liberal who calls themselves an “anarchist” because they think anarchism is when you scream “Fuck the government!” into a microphone.
Oh dear Engels!
Call people without a brain while say ableist
Username font and general style are giving fashy vibes.
That’s post-leftist for you. They attract ecofash and nonces like flies.
Overly online and unserious. These people deserve no response
.
Has that chaos magick sign been appropiated by NATO/anti-communist anarchists?
It’s been in anarchopunk circles for ages
