Last Monday, a shocking accident occurred in Berlin, Germany, which once again highlighted the inhumane living conditions of the homeless of the city.
A 33-year-old man, apparently seeking refuge from the freezing temperatures, was sleeping between layers of paper and cardboard in a waste bin when it was emptied in the early hours of the morning.
Yeah, but what would really help the situation? Right, throw them out the train stations and make the benches not sleepable on anymore!
Yeah but fighting symptoms is the the current mo, not solving problems.
Imagine going on about your already thankless job you do for a paycheck, doing everything as usual and killing someone as a result
Imagine being asleep and jolted awake as you are crushed to death by a compactor.
I figured it would be getting jolted awake by the sudden pain of the fall inside the garbage truck first. But yes. Not pretty either.
I’ve known someone responsible for the accidental death of another, it screwed them up entirely, permanently.
I have complete and unconditional sympathy for both these people.
Yikes, what a terrible way to go.
