ABC tends to release a standalone article later (which they have now for this), but I think the live blog thing is supposed to capture the feeling of watching the news unfold on TV except in written form ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Good choice. She’s always come across as calm and level headed. Hopeful they can do some good climate relevant negotiations with Labor.

Sadly we all know Labor will fuck them over with shit deals and refuse to work together like they always do to the Greens.

Agree with others, a good choice for stability and the public image of the party going forwards. I’m glad she found time alongside her family commitments.

Larissa Waters named new leader of the Greens

The best choice they could have made, IMO. More experienced than Watson-Brown or Steele-John, more well-known than McKim or Rice, and more well-liked (by the broader public, at least) than Hanson-Young.

Gods I hate that shit. The live blogs are great on election day and other times there’s a big event with developing details. But on regular days they’re so hard to use for reference. That said, the SBS’s approach may not be ideal either:

This is a developing story and this article will be updated.

If they add extra details onto the end and make it clear which details are added, that’s fine. But if new details are woven through the article, that makes it much harder for people to keep up with it as it develops.
