    Before we get MS defenders saying they were just following sanctions. Don’t forget the “we were just following orders” sentiment cowards expressed in the 1930s.

    MS has a history of being very government friendly and pretty much never pushes back

      Well they have contracts with pretty much the entirety of the US gov including DOD, ofcourse they wouldn’t dare to defy their king

        For the most part, MS does not need to do any lobbying in my experience. MS software and Office suite is generally the default for anyone who has not been particularly tech interested or worked in tech related fields.

        Especially in terms of government/public type domains, almost everyone defaults to MS because it’s what they’ve always had, what everyone else has or they don’t know what alternatives there are.

        The few to choose otherwise usually go for Google Suite, which in this particular case probably would have had the same result.
