Gonna give this a try on my work computer!
Aaaaaand pretty much any Linux distro looks and runs better than windows, full stop.
I switched to Fedora KDE Plasma or whatever it’s called because I was so sick of Windows. It… literally does look better, lol.
Surprisingly it works pretty well too. It’s not at all like the old days when I last ‘tried’ it.
Ain’t ever going back. Literally no reason to do so.
This is a windows vista ass article
Yeah, well, Windows 11 is just Vista all over again (if not worse).
Definitely worse.
At least because they fucked over 11 for all the wrong reasons, whereas Vista was a clusterfuck because they were attempting to move past a bunch of legacy junk like the old driver stack.
Step 1:
Go to linux.org
who runs/owns linux.org…? kernel.org is the linux project site, linux foundation uses linuxfoundation.org…
Idk, but it seems to be the only one that provides a friendly UI listing all/most of the flavours.
Hasn’t windows always run better with those disabled. I remember turning off a bunch of that stuff in XP.
Everything runs better without that stuff, even games.
It really only comes down to: can a human perceive a performance difference?
Animations off in a UI basically always results in: “yes”
