Honestly liberals are also genuinely disinformed and ignorant but they LARP the demeanor of a smug academic. Conservatives and liberals, it’s the all same misinformed ignorance just with different aesthetics.

Idk if you live around a lot of liberals but the overwhelming majority are not academics, some just went to college and maybe grad school. I’ll concede most smug academics are liberals but it doesn’t work the other way around.

The overwhelming majority of people who I interact with are “apolitical.” That is to say, they don’t vote.
And yeah, libs are conceited. They believe having a degree, let’s say, in software engineering, means it translate to having a sort of universal knowledge that makes them correct about everything, regardless of what they studied.
Some “truth nuke” where the average liberal is apparently just as evil as their counterparts in the ruling class while the average conservative is simply a misled child that poses no harm to anyone or anything.
Most of the right wing ignorance is also willful. They are both shitty to others on purpose, just in different ways.
They are correct to criticize liberals, but not correct to give conservatives a pass as being “simpletons”. Both factions are more often of the same faction than they’d generally like to admit. There are ignorant people of every faction everywhere, but in terms of the power brokers, conservative and liberal in the imperial core are mostly performative or superficial disagreement and join hands when it comes time to do empire things.
