The Trump administration has revoked permission for a 4-year-old Mexican girl who receives lifesaving medical care from a California hospital to stay in the country, attorneys for the family said on Wednesday.
Lawyer Gina Amato said the girl’s mother was notified the U.S. government was withdrawing the humanitarian parole the family received in 2023 when she brought her ailing child to the U.S.-Mexico border. She received the notifications in April and May and was told the family is subject to potential deportation, Amato said.
Since then, the girl has made it out of the hospital thanks to a treatment that provides intravenous nutrition through a backpack she wears. Lawyers said she isn’t strong enough to survive without it as she suffers from short bowel syndrome, which prevents her from being able to take in and process nutrients on her own, and the treatment she receives isn’t available in Mexico.
“Doctors have been clear that she will die within days” without this care, Amato said at a press conference in Los Angeles. “Deporting this family under these conditions is not only unlawful, it constitutes a moral failure that violates the basic tenets of humanity and decency.”
I apologize for going off topic from this girl’s terrible situation. I think this was the last straw I needed before I’d write my thoughts and feelings down in this manner.
Oh the social murder is this openly done now? Next up, more political violence that the USA has always done in other countries, but was denounced by the oh so uncorruptible democratic party. I don’t make political predictions, but I do think some things are amusing if they happened. Like if every member of the democratic party hot Luigied, only for the republicans to turn around and send each other to the nice farm in Minecraft.
Ahhhh, I cannot wait to hear what excuses American liberals come up with when 99.99% of votes go to Trump. USA has always lied about freedom and democracy, but is still smh a democracy that y’all just need to “vote harder” to fix. There’s no fixing. Only collapse.
I’m sorry, Americans, but now you get the African Apathy treatment (at least from me). I might have cared about Americans, but that was 50,000 dead Palestinian kids ago. I’d have cared about political violence in western countries, but then I found out the World Bank and International Monetary fund are STILL screwing countries over with mafia like practices. Colonialism never ended.
This is where a fascist, or fascist enabler aka a liberal, would spout the virtues of their non existent democracy and “superior” culture, as they wrote off another 100,000 bombs to drop on Lebanese people’s fighter jets they hide in their garages, without exception.
All of this is not to say who deserves X or Y, or whatever, or that the majority of Americans will suffer or not. This is to say I’m desensitized towards people’s suffering in the USA in the same way an American would be apathetic to suffering in the global south. Not the racism part. I have only material conditions in mind.
