while I don’t understand the git problem, since versioning your OS/tooling is a major feature not a headache, you seem too have found a place with debian so go ahead.

I talked to one of the contributors at Linuxtage Chemnitz and he explained that there seems to be special interest from manufacturers not having any more windows support for machines that still run perfectly fine. Just fyi.
