4·3 months agoTo what end? Award shows are basically there to make advertisers say “oh hey, this show is doing well and is probably gonna have a bump in numbers. We should get on board now.”
But there is no show to advertise for. It could be that they’re doing it altruistic- I’m just kidding award pushes cost money, and unless I missed the news there are no current CBS talk shows to piggy back off of a win.
I suppose the former producers/execs might be trying to raise their own profile. “Look what we did! We’re still here! Advertise with us!” Or it was in the contract for the show that they have to try, or they’ll need to pay Stephen more.
I dunno, just seems odd to go for the award postshowously.

Side note: Secret of the Ooze is a very fun movie, and I find it worthwhile to this day!
5·4 months agoYou bring up a good point about the future of preservation. The world seems hellbent on continuing to use windows for all games, even the ripped ones, but in truth the only real way forward is to not have whatever files we want preserves associated with any company at all.
And I don’t just mean the new and shiny ones. I’m talking everything from Frogger 95 to Elden Ring. Whatever the move forward, it would behoove all of us to find a solution outside of any particular ecosystem. The dot game of file extensions, the usb port of universability which each and any OS can read and play the item.
Course that’s if we don’t get sued into oblivion for even trying, or can survive everything else first.
I have used IVPN for the better part of a decade now, and for me it’s just that they do the job. Seems like a lame reason I know, but I pay the fee, it does its thing: rinse repeat. I’ve had no issues, no world shaking controversy, nothing. For me that’s one of the best things about it.
From a privacy standpoint, no logs, plenty of servers all around, etc. Someone else probably has a better breakdown of the pros and cons, but honestly my main thing is just not thinking or hearing about it.
