After 27 years of writing code, I have stopped spending time on a long list of small but painful engineering tasks. AI agents now handle commit messages, pull request descriptions, code comments, naming conventions, Git hygiene, issue tracking, and release workflows with more consistency than most teams ever managed by hand.
While I do not doubt AI’s ability to write decent commit messages, most of the stuff in article has been already in all IDE’s I’ve ever used for years and didn’t need AI.
If one wants to figure out in which branch they now are - just look at the goddamn screen. Built-in git integration in, for example, VS Code already makes most actions done in few clicks.
