The Switch 1 has both (LCD & OLED) variants, as the original one came out with an LCD screen by default while the OLED one came out in 2021 (and the ToTK special edition of that console released when the game came out). For me, I prefer the OLED panel since the colors look sharper & vibrant. Also, it makes no sense as to why the Switch 2 reverted back to an LCD screen when they literally could’ve made that OLED by default.

    yes, OLED and LCD are way different technology. LCD is much older and much cheaper tech.

    OLED costs a lot more. a OLED switch 2 would have been 700-800 dollars. The screen in the switch 2 is probably $50 part or less.

    I have a switch 2, the LCD is good, it’s just not amazing compared to an OLED, but I don’t play it portable so i don’t really care. I play it on my 60" OLED TV.

    They could also have made it with a microLED screen that’s superior to OLED, but it would have cost $1500+
