No one said it would flop. Perry much every one of the people criticising it for the clear issues said explicitly that it will be a huge hit and make tonnes of money.
Who cares what random nobodies thought. None of the actual big voices in the industry who know what they’re talking about said it would flop. Everyone with half a brain knows a Nolan film in 2026 is going to be a financial smash hit.
In Troy (2004) Achilles effortless defeats a much larger and heavy warrior through seer skill. I’ve never anybody claiming that his size makes that scene bad or unrealistic.
It doesn’t matter, he already made his money from the faux outrage he and other right wing grifters successfully generated. Whether his predictions are accurate is irrelevant because he doesn’t have a reputation as a real film critic to uphold and the social media debate cycle is so fast nowadays that he can immediately pivot to a new “controversy” and start milking that.
It’ll do fine, it still won’t make it a good movie (nothing to do with that) it’ll be a typical Hollywood pander film, big visuals, little substance. Oppenheimer was praised for being a mediocre piece of crap.
Fuck the chuds who thought it’d flop because of Elliot Page and a black Helen of Troy.

I’ve seen plenty predicting it was going to be a massive flop. Not professional reviewers, just “anti-woke keyboard warriors”
Who?

I explicitly said they were keyboard warriors, not reviewers, and the original post I answered said “nobody”, not “nobody that I know of”.
A fully accurate movie about ancient Greece would have a lot MORE queer stuff
right wingers have always got thier panties in a wad over ELLIOT page because he transitioned.
Totally not because he’s a total joke of a soldier
it was more because he’s supposed to be a super soldier and he weighs 96 lbs.
Bad actor even before transition and very small even when they where female so kind of odd to be a soldier and when people thought he was Achilles.

I will hold my judgment until I see the movie.
Achilles was an immortal demi-god. Do you even Greek mythology?
Immortal? Spoiler alert: he was killed with arrows to the chest.
And not a demi-god.
Critical Drinker got this one completely wrong.

Didn’t they say it would make lots of money because it is a Christopher Nolan movie.
