    I think this is a good time to say that I really enjoyed Mercy. I don’t get what people’s problem with it was. I think it’s a cool writing challenge to tell a story with the limits of a character having to investigate the crime from a computer with a time limit and I think the movie did a good job telling a story with those limits. I thought it was exciting to watch. And, since I turn my phone off in the theatre and can’t check the time, I liked that the movie periodically tells you roughly how much time is left. I also love that we are watching the story unfold in real time, with no time skips.

    I will say though that the villain’s motivation was kind of dumb. He could have just brought forward the evidence of his brother’s innocence and discredited the AI judge. If the court wouldn’t hear it, he could have made it public. It was completely unnecessary to frame another innocent man for murder
