Context: princess Andromeda of the perseus myth was from Aethiopia, while it doesn’t exactly map to modern Ethiopia, it does literally mean burnt (black) face. So yeah Andromeda was black, despite what most modern western depictions would have you believe.

    I never associate this myth with Ethiopia lul. Now I see why Andromeda is a gyaru in Fate GO(the closets to black people Japanese creators can illustrate while not been racists as fuck)

    I recently watched The Boy Who Harassed the Wind. It was unexpectedly refreshing to watch a movie without any white people in it. Western media is typically made with whiteness in mind: either white people are the main characters or there has to be some white self-insert character to convey how the story of POC relates to whiteness.

    From the expectation of white people being the default, the red hat in this post isn’t so contradictory. And I’m sure a lot of people think this way.
