I built a product and I framed a lot of the outreach presuming: boycotting is capitalistic. My product is framed in a way that also is intended to save capitalism from what I see as an inevitable collapse, and to delay late-stage capitalism. It was very difficult to build! But I wanted to know what you all think. To save SOME of you the effort, I went ahead and asked chatgpt, and got this response: “capitalistic in method, potentially non-capitalist—or anti-capitalist—in purpose.”
What are all of your thoughts? If you had to classify boycotting as solely capitalistic, non-capitalist, or anti-capitalist, with no inbetween, where would you place it?
It depends what it is.
If it’s a product then yes, boycotting is capitalistic. It is, in its method, a form of “free market” choice.
If it’s a system (like strike action/protest), then it’s anti-capitalistic, and could be classed as non-capitalistic because it’s a form of socialistic action.
My 2c at least - but I don’t pride myself on my vast intellect.
