I wasnt a huge bb guy but I’d say no. Lemmy doesnt have the same discussion style as a fourm. Much more drive by commenters and discussion always ends up offtopic or repetitive. But in the positive the freedom allows a lower barrier of entry so more different perspectives and a much more enjoyable posting experience day to day. Getting bitched at by mods or spending an hour crafting a response is a bit much these days.
