    I think it’s different from XP in that they made an already paid product entirely unusable.

    On XP I could at least continue using it many years past the EOL, offline, or online at my own risk. The EOL of Windows 10 removes my option to use the software that I paid for and also the hardware that I paid for, for the purposes that I bought it for in the first place. I paid for the license and I paid for the hardware. It’s fine if they stop supporting it, but there’s no reason for making it unusable for backward compatibility.

    They’re basically forcing people to repurpose their almost new hardware, sold until recently as “Windows machines”, for Linux.
