The problem was students insisted on lecture notes given to them. So…either we had a huge leap in human intelligence or most of my class cheated 2024, 2025. 5 A students never showed up. My colleagues in the US say it’s even worse. 2026 is back to the future: no shared lecture slides, 30% of lectures in chalk, no reading of notes in flipped instruction, quizzes on paper, no electronics allowed. Show up, take notes or flunk. I predict most students will drop the course in the first week. We have to do this because AI students are getting kicked out of graduate and medical schools in unprecedented numbers because eventually faking it bites them in the ass. High schools are encouraging getting a high number in courses by any means.
