I thought it felt really uncomfortable, really mean-spirited in a way most of the fediverse callout posts really aren’t. This is what I felt, isn’t it? Fucking hell, the mods of 196 are bad news
Mind you, i’m not saying it’s absolutely and definitely intentional, i can’t know this. My point is that the more acceptable it is to hate somebody, the more this type of exposure takes on a certain dynamic. We need to keep in mind here how virulently anti-communist 196 is, this is absolutely baiting them whether it’s on purpose or not.
This could have been a note in the modlog. That wouldn’t have been less transparancy in any way. You do not need a show trial like this to remove an inactive mod.
Show trial? Nah this was basically summery execution on the spot, got banned first, everyone else found out, then they bothered to tell me after the fact.
I’m sorry you had to go through this shit, you were too based for these counterrevolutionary pissbabies.
Yeah, a note on the modlog would have been the way handle it, I feel like! The abundance of screenshots seemed particularly unnecessary. Like, 196 is broadly willing to believe anyone is a “tankie” without tons of screenshots. The addition of the screenshots sort of feels like the post is saying “we want to put this person on blast, please read this and get angry”
