The other thing is solving on-the-job issues that crop up like the previous plumber not knowing their ass from a hole in the ground, and now you need to figure out how to deal with their cursed contraption. I’m also in the same boat as you. My job is in the field and is already heavily automated but that’s not doing a damn thing for replacing me. The hard part is understanding a multivariate system and it’s safety critical. Humans can manage it but AI can’t yet, and probably never fully will.
