Light trucks need to be crew-cabs so that a team of four can be transported to the job site, with all their tools.
And you can’t legislate on the styling of a vehicle.
If I had my way, the laws would be changed to mandate forward visibility, without reliance on ADAS. This would close the loophole, but overcab light trucks would still be legal; Mitsubishi Canters, Isuzu N-Series and Hino 300-series all provide great visibility.
