It depends. If the consumtion of some form of media benefits the artist/author/whatever monetarily, I won’t consume your work anymore. For example: Rammstein, since I don’t have any CDs and only use Tidal for streaming.

If, on the other hand, I already own your work I don’t see why I wouldn’t continue. For example: Harry Potter books I already own.

Sometimes the things the artist/author etc. did are leaving such a mark on his/her work, that I just can’t consume it anymore without it leaving a bad taste, so I won’t.

Yeah, but piracy exists. If it didn’t existed, I wouldn’t consume those works either, I can give you that point, but you can simply pirate.

And yeah, I understand all about the bad taste, it happened with two musicians I liked a lot that were groomers and all that, and another 9ne that sexually abused a partner of him, and now I can’t hear their songs because I feel uncomfortable. It’s ok and normal. The whole point is that it’s still personal and I won’t be policing anyone who still listens to them, and I still listen other artists that did such things because I didn’t felt such a emotional connection with these.

Tbh, I’ll admit that I focused it wrong, the thing I actually hate are those moral policers and SJW that cancel people like a sport.
