It’s often the upkeep that really determines its value, long-term.
1999 Dodge Durango I inherited.
Literally every single time I started her up, I had one more thing break, or stop working. We replaced the windshield motor on the driver side 6 times but you needed it because the AC didn’t work.
I wonder if there were power surges or some other electrical problem that kept on killing the motors.
Naw, clearly the 7th time it will work! No further investigation required!
