A longtime Republican living in California says the Trump administration’s continuing actions to target transgender youth take a personal toll.
That level of self-awareness gets surgically removed the instant one chooses to identify as a republican.
I think I’d rather kill myself than become a Republican, if I was forced to pick one tbh. My empathy for the common struggle of regular people working to simply live quiet lives is like a core part of what I am, I can’t imagine myself without it. I’m not perfect by any means, and I’ve got some contradictions and biases, but like holy shit I don’t know if you could cut that out of my brain without killing me in the process.
