Can anyone recommend a solution to host your own youtube library. something that is searchable, has titles and thumbnails, playlists, maybe even channels, searchable transcripts?

i’m thinkimg about something you can self host, maybe with a companion android app.

hope this is the right forum for this question, it’s my first time posting.

Honestly would love something like this. I archive music videos and some gaming videos (e.g. E3 announcement trailers). I have them in folders on my computer, and in similar folders on my phone. I use Outplayer on iOS, I don’t know what you’d use on Android. VLC was the go-to when I only had a few videos, but it doesn’t support folders, which is kind of a weird hill to die on, but that’s the stance they’re taking. MX Player has folders, but even MX Player Pro has gotten enshittified over the years. (That’s what my wife uses on her Android phone. I don’t have videos stored on mine. I suspect I’d browse via Solid Explorer, and open them in VLC, since I view iOS as more of an “app ecosystem” and Android as more of a “computing environment”, though they’re really the same thing. They largely differ in policies. One is ad-supported and sells your personal data, the other doesn’t allow sideloading.)
