I’m jealous of your safety culture. I walk my 3 month old around my neighborhood in los Angeles. The intersection right outside my apartment has a 5 lane road (2 lanes each direction and a turning lane in the middle). Cars will turn haphazardly from the left lanes when turning right or vice versa. They never use turn signals nor check for pedestrians, the police refuse to do anything saying pedestrian must be aware of their surroundings. We truly live in an evil unwalkable environment here in the states.
