The Lithuanian Intelligence Service (VSD) believes that Russia is not yet in a position to wage a large-scale conventional war against NATO in the medium term. However, limited military action against one or more NATO countries is possible.

Putin is allegedly planning to test how seriously NATO countries actually take the obligation to provide assistance under Article 5 of the NATO Treaty in case of emergency.

Well, given that he’s taken soft control of the USA, he’s created the largest, strategic ‘pincer move’ on Europe/NATO/Canada ever seen.

I struggle to see how this would work out well for Putin. They’ve lost almost a million in Ukraine, and they are stuck in a quagmire.

The only way this could work is if they succeed in Ukraine, then reallocate those resources. Unless they only intend to cause “accidents” with NATO members to stir the pot and see how much they can get away with.

Limited action against one NATO country means retaliation by all NATO countries (except the USA) and Russia is already running out of soldiers so I don’t know what their plan is exactly…
