I know liking anything about AI is unpopular here. I agree with the thought that everything Meta, Anthropic and OpenAI are doing currently are a gargantuan waste of other people’s money, resources and time. Ai Data centres have no real future and if anything tools of fasicsm and surveillance capitalism IMO. Honestly I will continue not to touch frontier models for coding tasks or anything serious.
However as a free-and-open-source enthusiast, I do see some long-term value in an open stack for AI. Qwen has me quite intrigued. It may be able to teach me things and help me put together useful code I can review in detail.
