I finally replaced it but until several months ago I was watching a lot of YouTube on a ~2018 Amazon Kindle tablet… one of the reasons I replaced it was because YouTube on Firefox chugged on that thing near the end. NewPipe managed to get like six more months of semi-acceptable use out of it (I was still sick of the ads and preinstalled app-ads) until I found a good deal on a used Pixel tablet locally. A dedicated app is less bloated than the web interface, but I guess this is more of an argument for NewPipe and other third party frontends than Google’s still bloated app.

Mostly unrelated, but anyone got suggestions for repurposing an old Kindle fire? Might be interesting to see how much ADB can debloat it and maybe turn it into a retro emulation device since I don’t need a digital photo frame.
