Been watching lead times on basic tooling and fasteners stretch out again. The big guys can absorb a 90 day delay, a one-man shop cannot. You keep quoting jobs against stock you do not have and the customer walks. Anyone else seeing this or is it just my lane?
Small shops can’t afford to pay higher prices and temporarily absorb the rising costs.
Small shops don’t have storage setups that would allow them to buy in bulk in the same manner as large corporations in order to be more insulated against rising prices by keeping more stock on hand.
I’m sure there are other reasons but I haven’t even read the article yet and those are the two that come to mind.

None of this was happening when Biden left. The rest of the world is doing fine but Americans are importing mystery meat, rationing medicine, and trying to scrap together nuts and bolts like the apocalypse has already happened.
