Dutch guy here. Most XTC and MDMA users are people who care a lot about their health. Drinking herbal tea, doing fitness, being vegan, eating healthy food, etc. It’s become a stereotypical thing of people trying to be extremily healthy during the week while at the same time snorting speed and chucking pills at parties during weekends.

I’m one of them. I used to organize many illegal parties and festivals in Amsterdam 20 years ago. I’m a raver who’s been to parties and festivals every weekend for 15 years. I’m still focused on being healthy, I just don’t party that much anymore, only 1 or 2 festivals and ~10 parties per year. I still do ketamine when meeting friends half of the weekends. We just do it responsibly, drinking enough liquids as ketamine can be harmful for the bladder and kidneys when not hydrating enough.

People party to release some steam from the busy week. Exchanging alcohol for party drugs is less toxic to the body and because people have jobs and education during the week, they need to compensate their drug use by being healthy.

That’s also why we have our drugs tested and why shit quality dope doesn’t sell as everyone wants the pure stuff. My ketamine is 86% pure needles, 10 euro per gram. Cocain from Peru is 84% and from Bolivia is 86%, 50 euro per gram. XTC contains between 140mg and 220mg MDMA and no other junk, 2 to 5 euro per pill. Properly washed speed, 92% pure, 10 euro for a gram dried.

A dealer sells poor quality? They lose their customers. Low prices, high quality, faster delivery than Uber eats.

So especially in the Netherlands the target audience is focused on health.

Meth, crack, and opiods are not used in the party scene.
