Italy had one of the largest Communist parties in Europe until the dissolution of the Soviet Union. It’s not like people have some natural inborn aversion to communist parties. The whole imperial spoils just being extracted from the global south is partially why people lost faith in the original Communist parties in the 1960s.

Europeans do suck for what they did, and it’s not like people in Europe didn’t extract a bunch of wealth or that we haven’t built an economic system that is ruining the whole planet and proceeded to export it around the world.
