Here’s why I am a little hopeful, shortage is supposed to continue through 2030 because all ai companies have already bought the memory that is be manufactured for all of 2027 and rest of 2026, but what happens when the same companies go bust and their contracts can’t be met? They have to go back to old status quo until next bubble. Same thing happened during the crypto/nft bubble, crypto companies had ordered GPUs for years and those GPUs were for crypto specifically but gpu market had fallen so quickly after the crash. I can already see quantum computing being the next bubble, I have started seeing videos with titles like ‘quantum computers: the technology of the future’

Yeah, and all that booked memory capacity is just numbers on a ledger. If or when the AI bubble goes bust, memory manufacturers will retool to making chips for other purposes, and hopefully memory will be more available.

The only problem is that prices might stay high because the same manufacturers have made projections and investments counting on Ai-bubble prices, so they’re gonna need to cushion their losses as much as possible.
