In terms of networking? Utterly worthless lol? I have over 400 connections and they all might as well be bots. Which higher up establishes connections and maintains their network online? It’s a site made for HR fucks and recruiters who don’t really do any recruiting. I’m convinced nobody who is active on LinkedIn does any meaningful work. It’s just a status symbol for midlevel careerists who like to project some kind of worth

Correct, lol. LinkedIn has been useful for me because people can find my publications and credentials if they are interested. I’m done explaining myself to people 🤷‍♀️

I get three types of messages on LinkedIn:

• people wanting me to hire them
• people who want career advice
• the most useless recruiters who are clearly not familiar with my field

All actual useful networking comes from industry associations.
