God I fucking hate the refusal of some linux desktops (GNOME, Cosmic especially, I went from enjoying to absolutely loathing switching to it) to make it easy to make shortcuts for apps. Why the hell can’t these people code an automated .desktop creator? Seriously.

I think the main reason is that Linux tools are made by skilled programmers and the intersection between “dedicated enough to finish a project”, “has time to do a project”, “skilled programmer”, and “skilled UI/UX designer” is probably very small.
