I mean, you had a point about the bailouts. I just don’t think you can blame the suppression of Occupy Wall Street protestors on Obama himself. He wasn’t the only neoliberal in charge in 2011. Sure, the FBI and DHS were keeping tabs, but it was the NYPD that did the violent suppression, under orders from Mayor Bloomberg.

In that case Obama as a person was more responsible than Trump who signs whatever the Heritage Foundation puts in front of him. Trump isn’t responsible for anything then. His GOP lobby can be blamed and he can be absolved.

Obama’s signature accomplishment was a heritage foundation policy. centrists have been coasting on it ever since as proof that they’re totally different from republicans.

When your favorite billionaire defender turns out to be a bad person, simply call other people racist. Great argument.

This is refreshing. Lemmy has felt a bit besmirched by liberalism lately, and it’s had me a little down. Thanks stranger.

Everyone deserves to be represented. Honest disagreements and discourse leads to good things. May you avoid bad actors in your interactions. 🙏

I’m not defending him for the things he actually did. He absolutely bailed out billionaires during the financial crisis. Blaming him for breaking up OWS protests is nonsensical though, and your insistence that it was on him can’t really be explained as anything else. There are just so many better criticisms you could have of the man.

Obama can be blamed for many other things such as record drone striking on innocent civilians and persecuting journalists exposing his empire’s war crimes.

But most impactful of all was his saving of the American billionaire elites which are the crux of all this suffering.

I didn’t even deny that bestie, I called you out for saying he brutally suppressed OWS protests. That’s a complete fabrication. I called you racist when you tried to imply that Trump is less at fault for straight up fascism than Obama was for milquetoast neoliberalism.

Yeah, it’s been pretty clear who has directly and intentionally caused more instability and human rights violations. Geneva just wants to keep hating on 'Bama. They may feel stuck in the past, idk.

Yeah, noone can say if you’re racist or not just from this. You do have some sort of hate-boner for Obama though. I don’t know what he did to personally hurt you, but I hope you eventually heal from it.

I don’t think America has had a morally good president in a very long time. Since sometime before Regan. I enjoyed the sense of stability that Obama brought to the people and nation. I view him as doing a decent job overall and if we want to point fingers, the Senate is who really failed the American people that cycle; Mitch McConnell in particular.

Oh, look. A personal attack without contributing more to the discussion. The exact thing you complained about happening to you. Wooooooow

Empathy =/= White-Knight anger. You’re only demonstrating the latter, not that you necessarily lack the former.
