I’m not saying they were good for much, but I feel like a grand inquisitor from medieval times would have good instincts when it comes to the proper response to this claim that Jesus was the ultimate usurer.
The more i read history, the more i understand that when the proto-protestant burghers complain about the evil arbitrariness and unjustness of Catholicism and the inquisition, they usual mean stuff like “i svammed some poor guy out of what little wealth he had and they said its unchristian and took my money and gave him it back even tho i didnt break a single law…”
