Holy shit. Bloomberg just verified one of my biggest scoops - that Microsoft only has 2gw of operational capacity. I had it at 1.993GW in prep for the story that [@aishadown.bsky.social](https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:pazzytppogqe26vbcux5u2dx) and I did for the guardian. Vindication!

The sad part is that it is all (especially the GPUs) custom hardware. Huge GPUs with insanely fast HBM memory, but they don’t even have a display output. Most of that will just be wasted, we won’t even be able to get it on the second hand market for anything useful.
I do at least expect tinkerers and hack enthusiasts to come up with cool interesting use cases that I have no time to actually pursue. My fav weird tinkering this year so far has been Asrock bc 250 (just crypto mining blades) being turned into diy PC’s wiht steam os on them
