Probably because the only reason anyone could still be a Sonic fan in 2026 is a childish inability to let go of nostalgia.

Unless we count shadow the hedgehog as a sonic game because that just rips your favourite game apart no matter what
I am on the fence about whether Black Knight and Secret Rings should be considered part of the mainline series. It doesn’t seem like ST does, although they do consider Shadow to be part of it. To be honest I loved that game as a kid and still get a kick out of the camp today, but I can’t defend its design now. The Space Colony Ark levels are inexcusable.
Never played black knight, but isn’t it a spin-off? So, not mainline. (“mainline” is pretty muddy tbh)

How’s the community over there? Seems a bit more lib than this site but also more active, do you think the tradeoff is worth it?
I had a lot of fun there for a few years but honestly I have become a much better Marxist since I left. There were lots of DSA types, electoralists and idealists. Big fights (aka struggle sessions) break out regularly and the struggles are never resolved because idealists can’t be reasoned with.
There was also some ableism against autistic users in the moderation/admin clique. Certain users regularly heard things that I and other autistic people weren’t saying.
I don’t know how it is now but I mostly avoid hexbear these days.
That was exactly my fear. Coming from personal experience - every “Left Unity” space I’ve been in has inevitably devolved into and been dominated by libs attacking other libs. It’s just exhausting.
i go on hexbear a lot but it does feel a lot more childish than this site. they’re always getting into some struggle session over something that either doesn’t matter at all or really does but the correct answer isn’t that hard. i was saying on their last thing a couple days ago that it really feels like when i was a prepubescent garry’s mod admin. my tentative hypothesis is maybe their “no sectarianism” rule means no one can ever be like “this is stupid”. the discussions are mostly okay but mention the sex trade on there and suddenly they’re all friedrich von hayek. i got in trouble for that one. when i have big questions about theory i mostly stick to grad.
anyway it’s not like you have to trade off anything; you can just go on their communities from this site. sorry for the wall of text; i’ve been thinking about it a bit lately.
What does Hayek have to do with sex work? 🤔 or did you mean it in a different way?
right i guess i left out some context. i meant they’re all about the free market specifically for that one issue.

Not lib, but left unity. I frequent about three communities there, mostly because the equivalents on grad are very inactive.
