I’m aware “white ‘chocolate’” is just cocoa butter or not actual chocolate but I wonder why there isnt a dark white chocolate if even only as a marketing gimmick

“Dark” chocolate contains a certain percentage of an ingredient called cacao (not cocoa; pronounced “ka-kow”). White chocolate doesn’t contain any cacao and I believe it’s impossible to incorporate the two.

They’re extremely similar. Cacao is the raw form harvested from the cacao tree. Once it’s been roasted and processed, it’s called cocoa.
