    Also - lots of ISP-provided routers have secondary unsecured networks as part of a network for customer devices that you may not even realize are coming from your own router.

        I know my Time Warner/Spectrum router used to have one back in the day as part of their “nationwide wifi” or whatever it was called.

        I bought my own modem and router years ago. Last year I bought a new TPLink router when I wanted to upgrade my wifi and I put custom firmware (OpenWrt) on it to make sure I was in comtrol.
